ADAMS Schweiz is investing in its site at Serneus in Grisons. The manufacturer of shut-off valves for hydropower plants is currently building a new production hall for large valves. In future, it will be able to manufacture and assemble butterfly valves up to a nominal width of 6 meters on site at its own facility.
According to the company, the main elements of the new hall encompass a processing hub, one of the biggest of its kind in Switzerland, and a 70-ton indoor crane for assembling large valves. Owing to its sustainable concept and optimal space and lighting conditions, the hall reportedly offers "a perfect work environment".
“Through this investment, we are strengthening our position in Serneus and creating additional workplaces for our region in Prättigau,” said Sales Manager Andreas Roos. “The plant will set a new standard for the manufacture of shut-off valves. It will also provide greater flexibility and enable us to respond to customer requests even more effectively.”
ADAMS Schweiz has completed various projects with shut-off valves over the last few years. These include the Round Butte Project in the USA for three butterfly valves that had a nominal width of 4.5 meters each and the Limberg III project in Austria for two butterfly valves with nominal widths of 5 meters. It has also undertaken various spherical valve projects with nominal widths of up to 2.5 meters and operating pressures of up to 192 bar. “This track record and our commitment to quality and innovation have made us a leading manufacturer of shut-off valves for hydropower plants.”
ADAMS will be exhibiting at HYDRO 2024. The international conference and exhibition on hydropower and dams will take place in Graz, Austria, from 18 to 20 November. ce/mm
