Myclimate is a non-profit organization that was founded 2002 in Zurich as an ETH spin-off. The organization sees itself as a partner for effective climate protection globally and locally. Myclimate is considered the global quality leader in voluntary CO₂ offsetting measures.
Together with myclimate, companies can calculate their CO₂ emissions and offset them by supporting a project. The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) of the UN are considered for each project. The myclimate projects are distributed worldwide and measurably support climate protection and sustainable development.
How does the Greater Zurich Area AG support myclimate?
In 2019, the Greater Zurich Area AG (GZA) began implementing its sustainability concept and started working with myclimate.
After completing the necessary questionnaires to calculate its personal CO₂ footprint, GZA decided to support the renaturation of wetland in Schwändital in the canton of Glarus, a member canton of GZA.
The goal of the project is to restore the moorland to its natural state. Moorland has an enormous carbon storage potential. The project will reduce CO₂ emissions in the air on the one hand and increase biodiversity on the other.
Since 2019, GZA has been a climate-neutral company by offsetting its CO₂ emissions.
How can your company get involved?
Myclimate offers companies a individual analysis of their CO₂ emissions. After the calculation, companies can choose which project they would like to support to offset their CO₂ emissions and are awarded the "climate neutral company" certificate for their commitment.
