Schaffhausen – Envoy AG has launched an app on the market that extracts and manages contact data from various social media platforms. This aims to help in discovering potential business opportunities. The company places great emphasis on data privacy.

Users of Envoy can upload, consolidate and combine contact data from social media platforms and other sources, it was reported in a press release. Artificial intelligence (AI) enables the system to sort through the contacts and identify those that might be interesting for new business and social opportunities.

The company places great emphasis on data privacy in this application. Envoy highlights that contact data is stored in a secure vault and users can exercise total control over with whom it is shared and for how long. Unlike other social media services, Envoy says it does not capture data to profile its users or sell and share user data with marketing companies. Users have the right “to be forgotten” and delete accounts or export and expunge data on demand.

By autumn 2018, Envoy intends to further develop this application and leverage the technology of Blockchain to deliver new user services, including identity validation, fraud protection and data encryption.

“Since Envoy’s inception, we have striven to design and build the single most powerful and widely available mechanism to provide individuals with the control and privacy they require to consider sharing their contacts with companies and colleagues,” said Envoy Founder & CEO Ralph Schonenbach. “Our unique value proposition is based on a paradox – sharing data while keeping it secret.”

The headquarters of Envoy AG are in Schaffhausen, in the Greater Zurich Area.
