Akkodis, the Zug-based digital engineering company that is part of the technology division of Zurich’s Adecco Group, has been awarded a major contract by the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND). Together with two leading industry partners, Thales Canada and KWESST Micro Systems, Akkodis will support the modernization and transformation of the DND’s software systems.
The three consortium partners will work to develop, support and sustain specialized software and integration services, according to a statement. These relate to command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, it writes. Akkodis will provide consulting and software engineering expertise that incorporates technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as “specialized project delivery”.
The total value of the contract amounts to the equivalent of 89 million Swiss francs. The contract term is five years, with five additional one-year options. “With our consulting and software engineering expertise, combined with the complementary strengths of Thales and KWESST, our JV partners, we will equip the DND with the agility and flexibility needed in a constantly evolving world,” commented Tao Qiu, Country President for Akkodis in Canada. The company will enable the DND to “keep pace with the rapid evolution of technology and accelerate in their digitalization journey”. ce/mm
