Hyll is planning to digitalize the process of hiring ski equipment, thereby bringing a greater number of people to the mountains. The app developed by the Solothurn-based start-up allows users to book ski equipment for hire and collect it directly at their ski resort. The app has been available for download since mid-January, as revealed by a press release on startupticker.ch. It has since been downloaded several hundred times already, which the start-up regards as its first success.
The first collection point for ski equipment booked online is located in the vicinity of the Grindelwald–Männlichen gondola cableway. The Intersport Group is responsible for delivering the equipment. Hyll is now initially planning to gain experience in this area. The start-up then intends to expand into other ski areas over the coming winter season.
Michael Koch, Co-Founder and CEO of Hyll explained in the press release how the company is seeking to transfer the concept of automated, rapid availability of a desired means of transport such as a car, bike or e-scooter and apply this to skiers vacationing in the mountains.
