Zurich company noii land AG has acquired the Los Angeles-based Matter Group, according to a press release. Both companies specialize in digital dating platforms. While noii offers video-based dating, Matter focuses on voice conversations, using its own AI-based recommendation engine to help the best-matched users find each other.
By acquiring Matter, noii aims to leverage the company’s expertise in AI-based recommendation engines to improve its own matchmaking algorithms. The American company owes its development expertise predominantly to co-founder and CTO Battushig Myanganbayar, who was previously a machine learning engineer at Apple.
noii was founded in 2022 and is currently headed by co-founder Laura Matter, whose surname coincidentally matches the acquired company’s name. The Zurich-based company says it has already secured half a million Swiss francs in a funding round, and has 15,000 users in Zurich. ce/ssp
