The NorthC Group is opening a data center in Winterthur, further details of which can be found in a press release. In so doing, the Dutch service provider is continuing its expansion in Switzerland. A year ago, it acquired three data centers in the Basel and Bern regions, with the new data center set to be connected to the existing network.
The first customer for the new Winterthur site is the IT company Kyndryl Switzerland, which, according to the information, has signed a managed service contract for colocation services with NorthC. The data center will also be opened up to other companies. The total capacity of the new data center is 1.8 megawatts, with expansion options for further growth plans also available to the NorthC Group.
Alexandra Schless, CEO of NorthC Group, describes the Greater Zurich Area as an “important growth market” in the press release. On account of the advancing digitalization of businesses and public sector organizations, demand for data centers is accordingly high.
In addition to the Netherlands and Switzerland, the NorthC Group also operates data centers in Germany. ce/ssp
