Basel/Rotkreuz - Roche Diagnostics Division is further expanding one of its most important sites: the old production building in Rotkreuz in the Swiss canton of Zug is being replaced by a more modern and significantly larger facility. It will provide space for developments aiding rapid and reliable disease diagnosis.

Roche laid the foundation stone for a new diagnostics production building in Rotkreuz in the Swiss canton of Zug on 29 October. According to a statement, the pharmaceutical company is investing 215 million Swiss francs in one of the most important sites of the Diagnostics Division. Sustainability and energy efficiency are top priorities.

The new building replaces an old production building, covers around 29,000 square meters and is planned to be completed by 2027. The development and introduction of new tests and systems for the rapid and reliable diagnosis of diseases reportedly requires additional space that can no longer be provided by the existing infrastructure. “Roche is thus sending out a clear sign of the importance of the Rotkreuz production site and underlines its clear commitment to Switzerland,” writes the company.

We are proud that here in Rotkreuz we will make a further important contribution to the health care system in Switzerland and worldwide.
