Stäfa ZH – Sonova, the hearing solutions manufacturer from the Greater Zurich Area, is unveiling several innovations on its Investor & Analyst Day. A highlight is the Phonak Marvel platform, which can take calls and transcribe voices to texts.

The presentation of the new Phonak Marvel platform will be a key agenda item during the Investor & Analyst Day on Tuesday, announced Sonova in a statement. Marvel is the world’s first hearing technology to fully support “full stereo” binaural direct streaming – or streaming into both ears – of music, phone and video from Bluetooth enabled devices. In a recent study, the product came top for quality of streaming against five competitors.

With Phonak Audéo Marvel, wearers can take calls via the hearing aid and access real-time voice-to-text call transcription. Other features include the TV Connector that automatically connects with the TV and turns the hearing aids into wireless headphones. The hearing aid can also improve speech understanding by 60 per cent in noisy places like restaurants and reduce the amount of effort required to listen and understand by 19 per cent.

On its Investor & Analyst Day, Sonova is also unveiling innovations across its Unitron, Hansaton and Advanced Bionics brands. The latter has secured FDA approval for its HiResTM Ultra 3D cochlea implant, featuring a new magnet technology that is compatible with the strong magnetic field of an MRI machine and must thus not be surgically removed for an examination.

The products will also be on display at the EUHA congress in Hannover on October 17.
