Uster - vrbn studios, a business unit of vrbn, has set up an online shop offering high-quality architectural 3D environments and 3D buildings. These tools are used in gaming, advertising, film and TV, and simulations – for example, for autonomous driving.

According to a press release, vrbn studios from the canton of Zurich is now operating an online shop. The vrbn business unit specializes in consistent, high-quality architectural 3D models and 3D environments. This 3D content is now available in the online shop. According to vrbn CTO Matt Bühler, the new production is “a technological milestone, which allows for unprecedented ease in creating truly believable, photorealistic cityscapes.”

The press release states that the shop is now offering “full-PBR, urban 3D assets and richly detailed 3D buildings (most of them also with three material variants) of different architectural typologies.” It explains that vrbn studios prioritizes quality and consistency in producing its content, and the assets are easy to use in large-scale 3D environments for cost-sensitive productions. Applications include game cinematics, VFX (film and TV), XR, advertising and scientific simulations – for example, for autonomous driving.

“Addressing the common hidden costs of content sold on 3D marketplaces is one of the most important aspects of our value proposition,” says Chris Bühler, CEO of vrbn, in the press release. “We often see that production cost calculations massively underestimate the effort required to fix cheap content”. This has a big impact on other project budgets. “We see that our buildings and assets are a quick and easy way to populate believable film-quality 3D environments, especially for small to mid-sized creative studios.” ce/mm
