Zurich Airport won the World Travel Award for the 15th consecutive time. The awards were handed out by the London-based media house World Travel Awards this past weekend. The evaluation criteria include customer-friendliness and the general quality standards of products and services. The winner is determined by the results of an internet survey of travel experts and the general public.
Zurich Airport won out against nine competitors in its category: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Hamburg, Lisbon, London/Heathrow, Munich, Paris/Charles de Gaulle, Pristina and Moscow/Sheremetyevo.
Stephan Widrig, CEO of Zurich Airport, emphasised the excellent cooperation between the airport operator and its partner companies. “This award goes to all the companies at Zurich Airport, as they all contribute to the high quality of our airport,” Widrig said in a statement.
Around 27,000 employees at more than 280 partner companies work at Zurich Airport. In 2017, nearly 29.5 million passengers passed through Zurich Airport, 6.3 per cent more than the previous year.
