Zurich – Hong Kong’s leader Carrie Lam visited the city of Zurich, where she met with mayor Corine Mauch to discuss smart cities, digitalization and the urban workplace.

Digitalization is creating new opportunities for cities like Zurich and Hong Kong to increase quality of life even further or improve services for residents and companies alike, according to the city of Zurich in a statement on the visit of Hong Kong’s leader Carrie Lam.

During her visit, Lam met with Zurich’s mayor Corine Mauch and the two exchanged views on future-related topics such as smart cities, digitalization and urban workplaces. Zurich has already developed a strategy on the latter subject, in which it intends to position itself as the workplace of the future.

With the latest visit, Zurich and Hong Kong are continuing the close exchange initiated last autumn with the Zürich meets Hong Kong festival. The series of events held in Hong Kong included several meetings between executive members from both cities on economic and social issues, with a particular focus on energy, mobility and municipal residential construction.
