Dätwyler IT Infra AG is set to acquire the ICT firm Seabix from Villmergen in the canton of Aargau in a deal that is expected to be completed by the end of the year, further details of which can be found in a press release. As a telecommunications service provider, Seabix operates its own data center and offers various services in the areas of cloud technology and telecommunications. The takeover comes on the back of a successful strategic collaboration between the two firms.
With this acquisition, Datwyler IT Infra is seeking to expand its strategic focus within the ICT business, the company explains in the press release. Over recent years, Dätwyler IT Infra, which is based in Altdorf in the canton of Uri, has been transformed from a cable manufacturer operating in Switzerland into a globally active provider of IT and operational technology (OT) infrastructures.
Seabix will continue to be operated under its own name as a subsidiary of Dätwyler IT Infra. Together, the two companies are planning “to become a leading supplier of ICT solutions across Europe and secure further growth in geographical terms”, the press release states. To achieve this, the partners will both make further investments in software and service development in addition to expanding their portfolio. ce/ssp
