Migrol has become the first gas station operator to use the autoSense Fuel app. It shows drivers in Switzerland the route to the nearest Migrol gas station, where it then selects a pump and activates it. After the driver fills up the tank, the app processes the payment via a registered credit card or Migros fuel card. If a driver has also installed the autoSense adapter in the car, then the app displays various vehicle data, such as fuel consumption or mileage.
According to a joint autoSense and Migrol press release, the app can already be used at over 100 gas stations. The remaining 200 Migrol gas stations will be connected in stages.
“We are implementing solutions that connect cars and gas stations, allowing them to be tailored to the needs of our customers,” said Simon Jossi, head of mobility at the Migros subsidiary Migrol. “Together with autoSense, we are taking a step into the mobile future.”
Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Zurich, autoSense AG is a joint subsidiary of Swisscom and the Amag Group. It has developed a digital assistant for cars, which includes a digital logbook, car diagnostics and a WiFi hotspot in the car. The company also plans to add competitive services from partner companies such as Migrol in the future.
