The technology to visualize journeys real-time in 3D developed by Way Ahead Technologies could improve the safety of Porsche vehicles.

Porsche and the Zurich startup company Way Ahead Technologies initiated a partnership in the summer, which is now taking more shape and is set to expand, according to a statement from the program STARTUP AUTOBAHN. The aim of the program is to bring together startups and industry.

Way Ahead Technologies is developing a technology to map journeys and visualize them in real-time in 3D. It requires standard 2D cameras, because the technology can transform the data into 3D. The startup’s technology can be used in navigation, to improve safety in dangerous areas and to proactively optimize routes. It is also interesting for video games.

Porsche plans to use the technology primarily to improve the safety of its vehicles. According to an article on startupticker.ch, the car manufacturer has already implemented the Zurich-designed solution in its 911 sports car in a pilot project.
