Kloten - The new winter timetable at Zurich Airport includes flights to Hong Kong again after an absence of two years. The first Ethiopian Airlines flight from Zurich to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, is also scheduled for take-off on October 31.

The airlines SWISS and Cathay Pacific will serve the Zurich-Hong Kong route as part of the new winter timetable again after a break of two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. From December onwards, the Asian airline will fly twice per week from Zurich Airport in Kloten in the canton of Zurich to Hong Kong. For its part, SWISS will now be offering five flights per week along the same route, further details of which can be found in a press release.

Details of the new Ethiopian Airlines connections between Zurich and a number of African destinations via its hub in Addis Ababa are also provided in the press release. The maiden flight from Zurich to the Ethiopian capital is set for October 31. The new winter timetable will enter into force at Zurich Airport when the clocks go back on October 30.

SWISS will also be offering an increased number of long-haul flights to destinations such as Delhi and Mumbai in India, as well as Bangkok in Thailand. Moreover, the Singapore route has been upgraded, with six flights per week now scheduled instead of the previous number of five.

Edelweiss Air is likewise expanding its offering and has scheduled a weekly flight to Boa Vista in Cape Verde this winter. From February 2023, Edelweiss will offer two rotations to Aqaba in Jordan with a stopover in Amman.
