Zurich - The former UBS boss Peter Wuffli has been nominated as Member of the Board of Directors at Sygnum. The FinTech from the Greater Zurich Area will therefore benefit from even greater industry-relevant expertise. Wuffli has been an investor in the Zurich start-up right from the very beginning.

Sygnum has nominated Peter Wuffli as Member of its Board of Directors, as outlined in a press release. His nomination must still be formally approved at an Extraordinary General Meeting of shareholders. The former UBS boss has previously supported the company in his role as Member of the Advisory Council and as an early investor in the company. Now, he will be helping the Board of Directors to drive forward the next phase of development.

Sygnum supports institutional and privately qualified investors in addition to enterprises and banks to invest in digital assets. According to information from Sygnum itself, the FinTech is currently in the midst of the regulatory process of applying for a Swiss Banking License and Securities Dealer License in addition to seeking approval as a financial services provider in Singapore.

In the press release, Wuffli commented: “I strongly believe in the potential of distributed ledger technology and continue to be impressed with Sygnum's set-up and the quality of its team”.
