Aeris Cleantec AG has closed a successful Series A financing round, raising a total of 3.3 million US Dollars in the process. According to an article on startupticker.ch, the financing round was led by Vic Lee, co-founder of Tencent, as well as Justin Mateen, co-founder of Tinder. Moreover, the venture capital funds PreAngel from China and the Israeli Sarona Ventures also participated in the financing round, in addition to ten other investors.
Aeris Cleantec is headquartered in Cham in the canton of Zug. The company develops air purifiers that filter airborne viruses, bacteria, mold, mildew, odors and other pollutants out of the air. The company’s devices are fitted with sensors and are based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this way, the devices are able to independently adapt to the habits of their users.
The products developed by Aeris Cleantec were first launched in China. In 2017, the company’s air purifiers were among the first of their type able to deal with the country’s heavily polluted air. Since then, the products have also been sold in countries such as the USA and Mexico, as well as being offered throughout Europe. By the end of the year, the company is also planning to launch on the South African and Australian markets.
Using this fresh injection of capital, Aeris Cleantec intends to drive forward the company’s global growth. “Our vision is to become the Dyson for health”, comments Pierre Bi, CEO and co-founder of Aeris Cleantec. He also explained that the company’s aim is to provide air purifiers that can remove far more pollutants from the air than is possible by using existing devices.
