Zurich e-signature provider Skribble is now making it possible to login with SwissID. SwissID users who already have a verified identity with SwissID can therefore electronically sign any document or contract at any time, day or night. This advanced electronic signature is a legally defined signature standard that is valid for contracts where the law does not require a specific form. This applies to most types of employment contract, tenancy agreements and purchase contracts.

The SwissID service is provided by the SwissSign Group, which is delighted to be driving forward use of electronic signatures in Switzerland in partnership with Skribble, as its CEO Markus Naef explained in a press release. Over 1.7 million individuals have SwissIDs and they will now benefit from being able to complete even more day-to-day business processes online. “This is welcome progress.”

Skribble’s CEO, Philipp Dick, regards electronic signatures as “the missing link for end-to-end digital business processes”. Legally valid electronic signatures enable “companies to tap this potential even more quickly and easily”.

The two partners also intend to collaborate on digital signatures, which require a higher level of signer ID verification for the qualified electronic signature status. For this highest e-signing standard, identity must be verified face-to-face for signing according to Swiss law.
