In summer 2018, the Microlino electric bubble car got approved for road use in Europe. Now, Micro Mobility Systems AG is working on a new model. The Microlino 2.0 shows big improvements in safety and better handling characteristics, as was revealed in a press release.
A first Microlino 2.0 prototype has reportedly already been completed. The integral body structure is made out of pressed steel and aluminum parts. The new Microlino therefore benefits from a higher stiffness and safety without increasing the weight, the innovative vehicle developer explains. By comparison, the body of Microlino 1.0 was based on a tubular frame.
A further four prototypes will be developed over the next few months. Micro Mobility will then start the homologation process to get the car street-legal. To save time, it will already start building up the pre-series vehicles.
“Developing a vehicle is extremely difficult and we have learned that the hard way,” the company explains in a press release. A few weeks after the new Microlino has the official papers, production can begin and the first cars be delivered.
The electric Microlino is a modern bubble car that seats two people. It features two battery options with a range of around 200km. Its top speed is 90km per hour.
