According to a press release, the startup Carify has concluded a successful funding round. Among others, an investment was made by Volkswagen heir Toni Piëch, who has also developed his own sports car with Piëch GT. The Geneva-based investment company ACE & Company also invested in Carify. ACE & Company has previously invested in SpaceX, Airbnb and Uber. Furthermore, several individuals from the motor sports scene and the finance industry participated in the funding round.
Carify operates a platform with the same name that provides cars on a month subscription. The company is a spin-off from the University of St.Gallen. It is headquartered in the Greater Zurich Area.
The company’s business model has already convinced Jochen Rudat, the former Director of Tesla Central Europe. He took on a consultative role at Carify in March. In a press release at the time, Rudat stated: “I see lots of parallels between Tesla and Carify: consistent implementation of innovative ideas and striving toward constant improvement.”
