Huber+Suhner is the new development and production partner of the German automotive supplier Bosch. The global provider of assistance systems has been awarded the contract to develop and supply radar antennas for assisted and automated driving, according to a statement.
In the statement, Huber+Suhner writes that the “faithful mapping of the vehicle's surroundings by means of radar” is one of the prerequisites for automated driving of the future. The company’s 3D antenna technology ensures that assistance systems can detect surroundings from a long distance.
The antennas are based on metallised plastic and can detect the position, relative speed and direction of movement of other road users and objects, even at high speeds, according to the statement.
Huber+Suhner sees the partnership with Bosch, which it describes as the world’s largest automotive supplier, as a milestone in the implementation of its growth strategy in the automotive market. In September 2021 the company, which is headquartered in Pfäffikon in the canton of Schwyz in the Greater Zurich Area and Herisau in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, was named the development and series production partner for radar antennas to the German company Continental, a leading manufacturer of driving assistance systems.
