For some time already, Coop Rechtsschutz AG has been working on the development of applications based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the aim of simplifying and speeding up access to legal services, further details of which can be found in a press release issued by the insurance group based in in the canton of Aargau. “We see huge potential for our company in the area of AI”, confirms CFO Martin Sprenger, adding that: “From our perspective, the use of AI in our day-to-day activities will enhance the productivity of our legal work”.
Now, Coop Rechtsschutz is turning its attention to expanding the relevant fields of research. To this end, the company has entered into a strategic partnership with the AI Center of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). Together, ongoing research work is to be deepened and new research fields opened up. Through the partnership, Coop Rechtsschutz AG is also entering a network for innovative technologies.
“With our newly formed partnership, research into potential application scenarios for AI in legal fields will be further advanced, accelerated and deepened”, explains Colin Carter, legal engineer at Coop Rechtsschutz AG, in the press release. He is convinced that AI will bring about significant change within the legal sector. “And with the ETH AI Center, we have gained one of the leading competence centers and universities in the world as a partner”, he adds.
