Zug - The U.S. management consulting firm Kearney honored the Siemens factory in the Greater Zurich Area with the Factory of the Year award in recognition of its supply chain resilience. It was recognized for its resilience in manufacturing, focus on sustainability and cost management.

The Siemens Smart Infrastructure plant in Zug in the Greater Zurich Area has been named Factory of the Year 2022 by the management consultancy firm Kearney from Chicago. It won the award in the category Excellence in Supply Chain Resilience. Kearney bestows the award on companies in various categories at the end of each year.

According to a press release, the award recognizes the plant’s supply chain resilience and preventive risk management. The factory in Zug has continued to ensure product deliveries to customers, even under current challenging market conditions 

The jury highlighted the resource efficiency and ongoing reduction of carbon emissions prioritized in manufacturing. Both underline the plant’s clear focus on sustainability. Another quality hallmark of the plant is cost management, built on lean manufacturing, automation and digitalization at Siemens Smart Infrastructure. Its culture of innovation and ongoing training of employees are also key.

The Siemens plant in Zug primarily manufactures fire detectors as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment for building automation. It employs around 350 people. ssp
