At the 54th Paris Air Show, which is taking place June 19-25, Casram will be showcasing its latest offering: the Ticino-based company, which specializes in the field of metal components for railway, aerospace and defense applications, high-voltage and nuclear technology as well as medical technology, has decided to set up a state-of-the-art, in-house manufacturing cell for aeronautics and defense technology, further details of which can be found in a press release. The services of this new manufacturing cell will focus on precision mechanics and on tungsten heavy alloys for balancing weights.
With this integrated manufacturing cell, the company, which was founded in 1952, offers a streamlined and integrated portfolio of special processes and its own certified supply chain for the production of ready-to-assemble components and modules. The portfolio of this manufacturing cell includes precision mechanics as well as the department for surface treatment for special metals. The latter offers processes such as coating, etching, passivation and chemical conversion, with anodizing, barrel finishing and polishing services set to be added in the near future.
Furthermore, a department for heat treatment and an internal department for the assembly and testing of subsystems are integrated in the latest offering. And finally, the range of services also includes a proprietary laboratory for certified non-destructive testing (NDTs) such as CMM, LPI, SEM, XRS and salt spray. ce/mm
