Syntegon Technology has been awarded the German Packaging Prize for the fourth year in a row by the German Packaging Institute. The German business group, whose Food and Service & Digital Solutions business unit is headquartered in Beringen in the canton of Schaffhausen, was named as the winner of the award in the Packaging Machines category for its IDH handling system for cookies and crackers launched in August 2022, further details of which can be found in a press release. The award ceremony is set to take place on September 13 in Berlin.
According to Syntegon, the jury praised the innovative use of picker technology, which enables manufacturers to drastically reduce the space required from the infeed belt to the packaging machine. Moreover, the system impressed with its high output of up to 1,250 products per minute in addition to the flexibility it offers in terms of format, pack style and layout with a space-saving design.
“Our Intelligent Direct Handling System, or IDH, ensures both high pack style flexibility and particularly gentle handling – the latter of which also minimizes product loss”, comments Daniel Bossel, Product Manager at Syntegon, in the press release. This award shows that the company, which operates 35 locations in nearly 20 countries, is constantly contributing to innovative and sustainable packaging technology. “The prize also underlines Syntegon’s decades of robotics expertise for the food industry”, Bossel concludes. ce/mm
