Novaziun AG from Vella in the canton of Graubünden has launched an electric single-axle equipment carrier on the market. The monotrac concept is unique in its performance class and is therefore patent-protected, further details of which can be found in a press release.
According to the press release, the agricultural machine features a direct electric drive without intermediate hydraulics, with lithium-ion batteries installed as well. These can store the energy required to power operations for a whole day out in the field, i.e. for between five and nine hours.
The monotrac is also suitable for use in remote locations such as mountainous areas not connected to the grid. With the appropriate device, the monotrac can store solar power during the day, which is then used for power in more overcast or rainy conditions. Alternatively, it can be used as a power bank for other power tools and equipment such as milking machines. Overall, the monotrac is three to four times more energy efficient than a conventional single-axle vehicle, the press release states.
In addition to the resulting lower operating costs, the machine also produces no noise and no toxic exhaust gases. This helps to safeguard the health of the device users in addition to protecting the environment.
Two powerful drive engines allow the machine to safely maneuver across challenging terrain, including steep slopes. “Turning in the tightest of spaces is a breeze thanks to the zero-turn mode”, the company writes in the press release.
Fully charging the machine using a standard household socket takes ten hours. With an external rapid charging device, the monotrac is ready to use after just 90 minutes. The machine can be tested during various demo events, with the next field test set to be held on the evening of August 17 in Versam in the canton of Graubünden. ce/ko
