Zurich/Calgary - Canadian company MicroWatt Controls is the new sales partner for the ANYmal autonomous inspection robot from ANYbotics. It will be used first and foremost in Canada’s oil and gas industries as well as the chemicals, energy, and mining sectors.

ANYbotics and MicroWatt Controls, a company based in Calgary in the Canadian province of Alberta, have concluded a partnership agreement. According to a press release, MicroWatt Controls will take on distribution of the ANYmal industrial robot developed by ANYbotics. The robots are intended for use in safety inspections required in the areas of oil and gas, the chemicals industry, the energy sector, and mining. MicroWatt Controls will provide ANYmal for direct purchase or as robotics as a service.

Satschin Bansal, Global VP Strategic Alliances & Partnerships at ANYbotics, commented in the press release: “Growing ANYbotics’ presence in Canada and focusing on expanding our partner network with accomplished reseller partners like MicroWatt Controls will accelerate the adoption of automated robotic inspection by industrial operators in key market sectors in Canada.”

ANYbotics was founded in 2016 as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. It creates advanced, four-legged robots to perform tasks such as inspection, monitoring, and anomaly detection in complex industrial environments. These robots can perceive visual, acoustic, and thermal impulses and pass information on to a monitoring center.
