Schlieren/Anaheim - Biognosys has announced the market launch of its new P2 technology for plasma enrichment. The method is set to be presented at the annual conference of the American Society of Mass Spectrometry (ASMS).

Biognosys, a biotechnology company based in Schlieren in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland, is presenting its patented P2 Plasma Enrichment method. This leverages a novel single particle-type enrichment method to achieve unbiased, deep mass spectrometry-based plasma proteomics, further details of which can be found in a press release. The P2 Plasma Enrichment method is available as a CRO service via the TrueDiscovery platform offered by Biognosys, or alternatively as an in-house method for end-users via licensing agreements, as the press release explains further.

“With our proprietary P2 Plasma Enrichment method, Biognosys can now significantly enhance the depth and throughput in plasma proteomics beyond what existing methods could achieve”, comments Oliver Rinner, founder and CEO of Biognosys, in the press release. “Most importantly, this advancement comes with exceptional reproducibility, which is crucial for quantitative studies. It also provides superior economics and achieves a false discovery rate of less than 1 percent, that cannot be matched with expensive, high-plex affinity-based methods”, he adds.

The P2 Plasma Enrichment method is being offered as a CRO service at the Biognosys facilities in Schlieren and at the company’s US headquarters in Newton, Massachusetts, via the TrueDiscovery platform.

The technical features and performance data are set to be presented at the annual conference of the American Society of Mass Spectrometry (ASMS), which is due to take place in Anaheim, California on Monday, June 3, as part of a Biognosys breakfast seminar, as well as on Wednesday, June 5, during a poster session.

Biognosys is a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) with its headquarters at the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich. ce/gba
