Bonaduz/ Neuchâtel - Experts from Hamilton and CSEM have developed a new analysis technique for liquids. The system, which is based on microfluid technology, is now being commercialized under the name VeriPlate.

Hamilton from Bondaduz in the canton of Graubünden and the Neuchâtel-based research and development center CSEM have developed a new method for analysing liquids. This new Liquid Handling System is based on microfluid technology and optical image analysis, as detailed in a press release. The microfluid plate was invented by CSEM, while the robotic integration for accurate pipetting and the optical image analysis come from the development labs of Hamilton, which is a specialist in laboratory equipment.

Hamilton is commercializing the new development under the name VeriPlate. The device allows the analysis of liquids in units of just a few microliters. This not only complies with all legal requirements, but also achieves reproducible analyses while avoiding costly duplications.

“An easy and fast quality control system can meet these needs and ensure confidence in the reliability of the pipetting workstation”, comments Samantha Paoletti, Head of R&BD, Life Science Technologies at CSEM, in the press release. “We are delighted to have contributed to the launch of VeriPlate with Hamilton. Accurate monitoring of precise dispensing is crucial in laboratory workflows, and VeriPlate is set to transform this vital process.”, she adds. ce/ww
