Zurich – The owner and operator of the Swiss stock exchange has entered into a partnership with two international companies to develop artificial intelligence-based services for SIX activities in the securities industry.

SIXannounced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Cortica from Israel and Duotem Capital from Hong Kong to develop AI-based services for the securities industry covering “collateral and cash optimization for the post-trade industry”.

Cortica brings to the partnership its experience in developing next-generation AI technology that learns on its own in real-time. Duotem Capital will collaborate to identify and evaluate AI-based business opportunities in SIX’s existing business areas, for instance by creating algorithms to identify fraudulent payments. Further use cases will be evaluated by the partners over the course of the initial phase, which is estimated to last for one quarter.

“Today’s AI capabilities, coupled with self-learning technologies, open up a world of possibilities and opportunities for us to improve the way we perform in terms of efficiency, transparency and compliance as an industry,” said Thomas Zeeb, member of the executive board and head of the Securities & Exchange business unit at SIX.
