Under the leadership of Neil Houlsby, Anthropic is deepening its work on large language models and multimodal AI. Houlsby brings over a decade of experience in AI research, specializing in neural architectures, computer vision, and language models. Previously a Senior Staff Research Scientist and Manager at Google DeepMind, he played a key role in developing Vision Transformers, parameter-efficient fine-tuning, and multimodal AI models.
The new office builds on Switzerland’s strong research tradition and Greater Zurich's thriving AI scene, supported by top universities and global tech companies. Focused on core technical challenges in safe and responsible ML and AI, Anthropic is building a team to tackle some of the field’s most complex problems, further embedding itself in the region’s dynamic tech ecosystem.
