Winterthur/Wallisellen ZH – The training platform eduwo and Microsoft Switzerland are working together. They want to inspire young people to take up technological occupations in an effort to meet the growing demand for ICT specialists.

In the age of digitalization specialists in the ICT area are becoming increasingly important. According to a study by ICT-Berufsbildung Schweiz (Swiss ICT Training Association), up to 25,000 additional skilled professionals will be needed in this sector by 2025. Eduwo and Microsoft Switzerland are now working together to inspire more young people to take up technological occupations and make this field of work generally more accessible.

Eduwo is already promoting an exchange between students and those who are interested in undergoing training. The start-up from Winterthur provides reports by students on their experiences. This is intended to help prospective students when deciding which educational establishment to choose.

“Eduwo creates additional transparency and therefore provides even better support when choosing which course of study or training to embark on. Therefore, the training platform helps to reduce the shortage of specialists and supports successful lifelong learning”, says Marc Weder, Business Unit Manager Education, Microsoft Switzerland, in a media release. Weder will sit on the Advisory Board of eduwo within the scope of the partnership and support the management with his expert knowledge.

“We are convinced that by working with Microsoft Switzerland we can strengthen the Swiss education system. With Marc Weder’s expertise, we have the opportunity to develop innovative ideas to open the doors to qualified specialists of tomorrow”, says Benjamin Vidas, co-founder of eduwo.
