GreenTEG and u-blox are together launching a new wearable device that should help facilitate a return to normality in a post-coronavirus crisis world. The device, which has been named CORE, is able to continually measure the core body temperature of its wearer, as detailed in an article published by startupticker.ch. When the device determines a deviation from the normal temperature, it lets the wearer know. In this way, a safe return to office life should be facilitated.
With CORE, sensors developed by GreenTEG are used for heat flow measurements. In addition, a Bluetooth module with low level energy consumption from u-blox was integrated in the device.
GreenTEG and u-blox are both spin-offs from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). GreenTEG is headquartered in Rümlang. In addition to wearable devices, its sensors for heat flow measurements are also used in construction technology and in the characterization of materials and industrials processes. u-blox is headquartered in Stäfa and specializes in the manufacturing of chips.
