i2invest has successfully raised fresh capital. The start-up, which was founded in 2017 by four young entrepreneurs, has banked a total of 1.3 million Swiss francs from a group of business angels. According to a press release, the Zug-based FinTech intends to use this funding to support growth and expand its team. Moreover, the capital will support the launch of two funds this fall.

A total of 10 million Swiss francs in seed capital is to be committed to both of these funds. The first will concentrate on financing loans with recoverable collateral such as car loans, agricultural loans and software development loans, while the second fund project is designed to support i2invest in their efforts to help a Liechtenstein asset management firm to bundle together the best SME loans available on marketplaces in Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Liechtenstein into a single fund.

“This project is a matter of the heart for us”, comments co-founder and CEO Gregor Stadelmann in the press release. He adds: “We are pleased that we can make a positive impact on the domestic business environment”. In addition to other fund projects currently in the pipeline, these two funds are to be made available to “qualified investors from Europe”.

As part of this financing round, Christopher Bödtker will join the Board of Directors. In 2017, Bödtker sold his private equity asset management firm Akina to Unigestion, and has since been a partner in the company.

i2invest offers software solutions that collect and analyze investment data on lending platforms. This serves professional investors, with the aim being to create a bridge between the offerings of digital credit intermediaries and qualified investors that want to invest in a diversified manner in the area of marketplace lending. Since being founded, i2invest has invested in more than 30 marketplaces around the world, according to information from the company itself. One year ago, i2invest successfully closed a seed financing round.
