The Chinese cobalt producer Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Co., Ltd., which is headquartered in Shanghai, has listed 50 million Global Depository Receipts (GDRs) on the SIX Swiss Exchange based in Zurich, further details of which can be found in a press release issued by the Swiss stock exchange. In so doing, it has become the sixth company this year to list GDRs on the Swiss stock exchange. One GDR represents an interest in two A-shares of the company, which are listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in China.
Huayou Cobalt is a global company operating in the lithium-ion battery materials industry. It develops resources such as nickel, cobalt and copper and uses these to produce materials to manufacture batteries. According to the information, it has a vertically integrated business model that covers all of the steps in the industry’s value chain.
Huayou Cobalt was founded in 2002. According to information from the company itself, it is currently China’s largest manufacturer of cobalt-based chemicals in China. Its most important products include cobalt tetroxide, cobalt oxide, cobalt carbonate, cobalt hydroxide, cobalt oxalate, cobalt sulfate and cobalt monoxide.
The products are used for cathode materials in lithium-ion batteries, high-temperature metals and carbides, ceramic frits and glazes, rubber adhesives and petrochemical catalysts. ce/ko
