Chur – On Friday, the Rhaetian Railway’s conference and innovation carriage will set out for its maiden voyage. The InnoTren concept was co-developed by The University of Applied Sciences Chur (HTW) and the innovations service provider Zühlke.

The InnoTren concept allows up to 15 passengers to hold meetings or seminars while their train whistles through the striking, mountainous backdrop of the Graubünden countryside. The Rhaetian Railway (RhB) has converted a carriage from the Glacier Express for this purpose and appointed it in a modern, contemporary style, as outlined in a press release from Zühlke. The innovations service provider from Schlieren ZH developed the InnoTren concept together with the RhB and HTW Chur.

Nicolas Durville, CEO of Zühlke, commented: “Innovative ideas emerge from special environments. The unusual setting of the InnoTren concept is a source of inspiration. Meetings and workshops conducted in a train carriage generate completely different results to everyday meetings back in the office.”

InnoTren was presented to the public on Thursday at Chur railway station. RhB Director Renato Fasciati highlighted the advantages offered by the innovative carriage concept: “I completely believe in the InnoTren concept. There’s no hiding place here, everyone is gathered in the same room. All ideas are outlined on the table, on the flipchart or even on the huge panoramic windows!”

InnoTren could, for example, be booked by thinktanks on the search for that moment of inspiration. Meetings can also be moderated by a representative from Zühlke or HTW Chur. Jürg Kessler, President of HTW Chur, commented: “The room, the people, and the process are central elements in terms of generating ideas and implementing them. The space has been created and we at HTW Chur would only be too happy to offer support during the process.”
