Netcetera and Deutsche Kreditbank (DKB) have modernized the 3-D Secure process and integrated the payment approval via biometrics. DKB is now using this solution in its banking app. This simplifies the registration and payment authorization for card payments, it was reported in a press release. Users identify themselves in the banking app by fingerprint or Face ID and then release the payment quickly and easily with a click. According to the information provided, the security procedure complies with the payment directive PSD2 dictated by the EU from September 2019.
This new payment authorization reportedly makes it easier for customers to pay online. It will bring about significantly fewer payment interruptions. Enabling easy online payment is of great importance, because ever more people are shopping online. Netcetera reports that gross sales of goods in e-commerce increased by 11.4 percent to €65.10 billion in 2018.
“Our implementation of the latest development in the 3-D Secure environment for DKB is a milestone for digital payment. DKB can thus offer the best possible user experience while at the same time ensuring a high level of security,” commented Peter Frick, Managing Director Payment Security at Netcetera.
