TYPO3 has released a new long-term support version of the TYPO3 content management system. The new version 9.5 helps users ensure compliance with the new EU General Data Protection Regulation. A further feature mentioned in a press release is that for improved search engine optimisation. Developers will also find starting new projects faster as the system now supports the SQLite database solution. This adds to TYPO3’s long-established support for MySQL and MSSQL, among others.
According to TYPO3, the development of this new version was supported by the universities of Basel, Vienna, Rostock, Hohenheim and Wuppertal, as well as the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and the Technical University of Munich. The TYPO3 Content Management System is particularly prevalent in German-speaking countries.
The TYPO3 Association coordinates the long-term development and is based in Baar.
