Greater Zurich Area gains five new members

According to a statement from Greater Zurich Area AG (GZA), five more companies in the region have joined the business and location promotion agency. The cooperative Swiss Lunch-Check, the law firm Barandun von Graffenried AG and the consulting firms EBP Schweiz AG, MME Legal | Tax | Compliance and First Names Group will strengthen the public-private partnership for promoting and marketing the Zurich economic region.

In this way, “our successful model of a public-private partnership” is also consolidated, said Carmen Walker Späh, a member of the Government Council of the canton of Zurich and president of GZA’s Foundation Board.

In addition to the canton and city of Zurich, the GZA also includes the cantons of Glarus, Graubünden, Schaffhausen, Schwyz, Solothurn, Uri and Zug, as well as the Winterthur region.

“Based on our very positive experience obtained from attending different forms of the activities held by the GZA in the past, we think our law firm has the same mindset and momentum on how to develop the business activities of the area,” said Remy Bärlocher, a partner at Barandun von Graffenried.

EBP is looking forward to supporting GZA “in its efforts to further develop the Greater Zurich Area as a business location with attractive framework conditions, a renowned innovation and education landscape and a high quality of life in the long term”.

First Names Group sees its involvement as “recognition of the many benefits that the Greater Zurich area has to offer potential investors”.
