Zurich – At the start of June, the Informatiktage (IT days) will be taking place in the regions of Zurich and Winterthur for the third time. For the event, companies, startups and organisations will be opening their doors to the general public. The aim is advance the location for ICT.

The Informatiktage (IT days) will be taking place on 1 and 2 June 2018. A press release reveals that around 70 companies, universities, startups and organisations from the region will be involved in the event. These include the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) and the Zurich-based IT giant IBM. In terms of startups, already confirmed are the authentication product developer Futurae Technologies and Hivemind, a specialist in solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT).

The event is aimed at both amateurs and professionals. There will be talks and seminars, as well as games. This is a chance for visitors to discover how a hacking attack works or a pacemaker is programmed. The changing job prospects in IT and new career opportunities will also be discussed. Furthermore, the event will shed light on the steps that companies are taking in response to digitalisation.

It is organised by eZürich, the platform for people and projects aimed at promoting Zurich as an IT and business location. eZürich is a cooperation network of over 100 companies and representatives from research, politics and more. It is coordinated by the City and Canton of Zurich.
