EvoBus Schweiz AG has moved to Winterthur in the Greater Zurich Area, opening one of the most modern bus competence centers there. It comprises the customer service and operating building BusWorld Home (BHW) as well as a training center including a workshop for all-electric buses.
BusWorld Home Winterthur in the Wülflingen district employs 97 staff. Daimler, the parent company based in Stuttgart, is combining all of its expertise and experience from minibuses to coaches with the most up-to-date safety standards and to all-electric city buses with the latest battery technology. There are 16 fully equipped workshop tracks available for this.
The press release states that the “fast, unique top-class bus service” also contains a delivery hall with modern equipment for new vehicles. Used vehicles are tested there before sale and are technically processed according to the classification. The workshop provides 28 spaces for all types of bus.
Moreover, BHW Winterthur is fully ready for electromobility according to the press release. Along with the Mannheim and Dortmund sites, it is a European training center for electric buses. Several vehicles can be worked on at once at the 33-meter roof work station. There is a platform measuring 105 m2 over the workshop for repairing high-voltage batteries. The entire AuS area (working under voltage) exceeds all safety requirements.
