Schaffhausen – GF Piping Systems is refurbishing its headquarters. The building from 1963 is to be brought up to the Minergie standard in the future, with a new photovoltaic system also planned. GF is investing more than 20 million Swiss francs.

The headquarters of GF Piping Systems in Schaffhausen were only built in 1963, but the building already has a long and rich history. It was originally erected as a two-story structure and more floors were gradually added over the years. A training centre was constructed in 2004, which around 7,000 people visit every year. The building will now be fully renovated, as GF reported in a press release. The project will give rise to innovative offices with team, co-working and project rooms as well as a spacious laboratory. A new training centre will offer attractive training and exhibition rooms. Yves Serra, CEO of GF, commented: “We are investing in facilities designed to encourage innovation and where employees can collaborate on projects. This will help increase the attractiveness of our sites.”

The exterior is being fully upgraded as well. The building is to be brought up to the Minergie standard in the future and includes the installation of a new photovoltaic system. GF is investing more than 20 million francs in the renovation. The refurbishment will take half a year to complete, during which time the more than 300 employees will continue to work in surrounding buildings or temporarily relocate.
