Zug – The startup smartconext uses an intelligent algorithm to search through data on planning applications and makes this accessible via its platform. A new function will now enable construction companies to find relevant applications more quickly.

In Switzerland, the publication of planning applications is mandatory. According to information provided by smartconext, around 50,000 applications are published every single year. Many construction companies search through these independently to find new customers. Given the many different sources, the time effort and cost of this process is often disproportionately high.

The Zug startup is enabling even small firms to more easily access planning applications with its platform launched in June. Using technology such as Robotic Process Automation, available information on planning applications is automatically brought together from all possible sources. Data is prepared through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Now, smartconext is expanding its platform to include a new interface solution. This will enable the exchange of information across different platforms. For example, a heating pump manufacturer interested in newbuilds and conversions will only see those planning applications that are relevant to them. A unique element is that all this information will be available in real time.

“Our mission is to advance digitalization in the construction industry,” said Dominik Mahn, CEO and founder of smartconext. “We develop solutions that simplify processes, cut costs and improve the chance of success.” The resultant cost benefit can then be passed on to customers by companies, the CEO explains.
