Zurich Airport has won an Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award 2020. These awards are handed out to airports of various sizes by Airports Council International, the global association of airport operators, based on passenger surveys. The questionnaires cover 34 different subjects such as check-in processes, security controls and catering facilities.
In the category of European airports with an annual passenger volume of 25-40 million people per year, Zurich Airport leads the way together with Lisbon Airport and Moscow Domodedovo Airport. Overall, 24 European airports were presented with an ASQ Award for 2020.
This is already the fifth time after 2006, 2008, 2018 and 2019 that Zurich Airport has taken first place for an ASQ Award, as detailed in a press release issued by Flughafen Zürich AG. This year’s survey shows that passengers above all appreciate the good transport links, ambience and cleanliness on offer at Zurich Airport.
“I am very pleased that despite this unusual year and the enormously difficult and challenging conditions, we were able to receive this award as the best airport in Europe in our size category”, comments Stephan Widrig, CEO of Flughafen Zürich AG, in the press release, before adding: “We also had to reduce the offering, but the award shows us that we focused on upholding the right services and that passengers appreciate our efforts”.
