The Lifestyle-Tech Competence Center (LTCC) in Lugano in the canton of Ticino, one of the pillars of the future Switzerland Innovation Park Ticino, has secured two new members whose roots are firmly entrenched in the canton of Ticino, further details of which can be found in a press release. These are the luxury cycling apparel brand ASSOS of Switzerland from San Pietro di Stabio in the canton of Ticino and VF International, the European subsidiary of the VF Corporation, one of the world’s largest clothing firms based in Denver, Colorado. The company’s European headquarters are located in Stabio, likewise in the canton of Ticino.
Fabrizia Greppi, Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Communications (EMEA), VF International, has announced that the cooperation between VF and LTCC will concentrate on two projects with a distinct focus on Generation Z and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and will “explore possible solutions to be applied within our company thanks to LTCC’s expertise. ASSOS of Switzerland will offer LTCC members the opportunity “to grow together with other members of the association whilst broadening our competencies in Lifestyle Technologies with the support of the LTCC team”, according to CEO Edwin Navez.
Furthermore, representatives from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) and the Hyphen Group in Italy are presenting a new research and development project. This aims to use AI to produce digital content in the fashion and luxury industry. The project is being realized by the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence based at the SUPSI campus in Lugano in partnership with Hyphen Digital, a Swiss market leader in digital content.
The LTCC has set itself the goal of supporting innovative companies that carry out research and development activities in the area of LifestyleTech, which includes, among other aspects, FoodTech, FashionTech, TravelTech, DesignTech and smart living. ce/mm
