Sevensense Robotics will compete as one of six finalists at the ELA Awards 2023 presented by the European Logistics Association (ELA). Having won the GS1 SwitzerlandSwiss Logistics Award 2023 in May 2023, the Zurich-based company was invited to participate by the ELA jury. The awards will be presented on December 12 as part of the European For Supply and Beyond, Rethink the Future with Supply Chain event, which will be hosted in Paris by ELA co-founder France Supply Chain by ASLOG.
As the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich spin-off explains in a video, its market-proven Alphasense Autonomy system gives eyes and intelligence to logistics vehicles such as forklift trucks, tuggers and pallet trucks. The system combines the advantages of AI-based Visual SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) positioning with local object perception and vehicle navigation.
According to Sevensense, its solution can be integrated into any vehicle platform and therefore gives “access to the 94 per cent of warehouses currently untapped by automation.” This could enable millions of logistics vehicles to be automated without years of costly developments, as well as exponentially increasing the speed at which warehouses and logistical processes can be automated.
“We are honored to represent Switzerland in the ELA Awards 2023 and look forward to the opportunity to present the benefits of our Visual SLAM technology,” says CEO Gregory Hitz. “Our journey of reshaping the landscape of logistics through automated material handling robots has just begun.” ce/mm
