Schaffhausen/Chicago – GF Machining Solutions, a division of Georg Fischer, and the American firm 3D Systems have jointly developed a solution for additive manufacturing. The DMP Factory 500 can simply the manufacture of metal parts and reduce total operation costs.

GF Machining Solutions and 3D Systems have presented a jointly developed solution for additive manufacturing, which is designed to transform metal manufacturing.

The DMP Factory 500 is a customizable solution comprised of five function-specific modules. According to a press release, the solution can be easily integrated into a company’s process chain. To facilitate this, GF Maching Solutions has already filed a patent application for the new concept. The integrated feature reduces production times while also lowering the total cost of operation.

The partners are showcasing their development this week at the International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago.

Georg Fischer and 3D System intend to launch other joint solutions in the area of 3D printing. To this end, the companies entered into a partnership at the beginning of August in a bid to combine GF Machining Solutions’ subtractive metal manufacturing expertise with 3D Systems’ experience in additive manufacturing.

GF Machining Solutions is a division of the industrial group Georg Fischer from Schaffhausen. 3D Systems was co-founded in 1986 by Charles Hull, the inventor of 3D printing, and is headquartered in Rock Hill, North Carolina.

GF Maching Solutions also opened a production facility for high-end machine tool products in China this week, which will focus on the research, development and production of high-quality machine tools. The project will also help promote technical innovation across the entire equipment manufacturing sector.
