SIX launches world’s first digital bond
Zurich – On November 18, the SIX Swiss Exchange issued the world’s first bond with a purely digital part on a fully regulated exchange. It was oversubscribed several times. SIX describes it as a historic transaction and the start of a new era.
ABB partners with Sevensense
Zurich – The robotics startup Sevensense from the Greater Zurich Area has secured 7.7 million US dollars in a financing round. The round was led by ABB. Sevensense develops technologies that enable robots to work in unstructured environments.
iRobot acquires Aeris Cleantec
Cham ZG/Bedford - Aeris Cleantec AG has been sold to the American company iRobot Corp for a value in the high two-digit millions range. The company, which was started by two graduates from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, manufactures equipment to purify indoor air from any contaminants.
Technopark Graubünden exceeds expectations
Landquart GR – At the end of the first year of its existence, Technopark Graubünden was officially opened on Wednesday. There, Member of the Cantonal Government Marcus Caduff commented that major technology issues for the Rhine valley region are being tackled together with Technopark Liechtenstein.
Carlyle to acquire AutoForm
Pfäffikon SZ – The American investment firm Carlyle is acquiring AutoForm Engineering GmbH from Astorg, which is based in France. AutoForm is headquartered in the Greater Zurich Area and specializes in software for the automotive industry.
ETH employs 17 highly cited researchers
Zurich – A total of 17 of the world’s most cited researchers this year work at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH). Overall, 102 researchers from Switzerland are listed in the current edition of the list, which is published annually by the media group Clarivate.
Milestone for sustainable construction emerging in Zug
Zug – On Wednesday, construction work started on the largest building project to date using CO2-enriched concrete. This is being supplied by Holcim for the new production and assembly building at V-ZUG. The CO2 enrichment procedure comes from the startup neustark.
