PreComb raises investment of 2.2 million francs
Hombrechtikon ZH – PreComb has raised new funding of 2.2 million Swiss francs in a seed financing round. The biotech has developed a technology platform for personalized medicine for cancer patients. This will make it possible to directly test the drug response of individual cancer patients.
Volvo becomes lead investor in Designwerk
Winterthur - Designwerk Products AG from the Greater Zurich Area has brought Volvo on board as the lead investor in the firm. The Swedish Volvo Group has bought a stake of 60 percent in the electromobility specialists.
Virtual reality set to aid flight training
Dübendorf ZH – Prospective helicopter pilots are now able to train using a virtual reality flight simulator. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency recently approved a simulator of this kind for the first time. The system was developed by VRM Switzerland.

Schlieren ZH – The games developer Giants Software is releasing Farming Simulator 22 towards the end of this year. The new agricultural simulator will be available to play on PC and other games consoles. For the first time, Giants Software is releasing the game as the publisher itself.
Diaxxo developing ultra-fast PCR testing device
Zurich – The start-up Diaxxo is developing a device that can carry out PCR tests in real time. This eliminates the need to send test samples to laboratories. Results will be available in just 25 minutes. The device is currently in the process of being tested and certified.
Nanoparticles used to kill multi-resistant bacteria
Dübendorf ZH/Zurich – Researchers at Empa and ETH Zurich have developed nanoparticles to detect and destroy antibiotic-resistant bacteria. In contrast to antibiotics, these nanoparticles are able to penetrate human cells and fight dangerous bacteria lingering within.
Klarpay awarded FINMA license
Zug - The start-up Klarpay has been awarded a FinTech license by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). It now intends to offer account and payment services for digital companies.
atHeart Medical tests heart implant
Zug – The newly founded MedTech company atHeart Medical is commencing operations. Initially, it will drive forward development of a new metal-free heart implant. The first tests are to be conducted in the USA.
The Green Mountain launches vegan sausage
Schaan/Landquart GR – The Green Mountain is expanding its range of vegan meat substitutes with the cervelat national sausage and two Bratwurst sausage alternatives. For these, a new vegan casing has been developed by the startup from the Greater Zurich Area.
